RoundCube with Captcha Security Image and mvision skin support
RoundCube Webmail is a browser-based multilingual IMAP client with an application-like user interface. It provides full functionality you expect from an e-mail client, including MIME support, address book, folder manipulation, message searching and spell checking.
The text above is from the RoundCube Webmail Project website. RoundCube is indeed a very interesting webmail project. It is using Web 2.0 technologies and is highly customable. The team behind the project is certainly creating one of the best webmail applications ever!
For a couple of week ago I was browsing through the RoundCube forum and found a template called mvision made by Miha. I was totally baffled since it is a very good looking skin and it is working very well.
Localization
RoundCube is supporting a lot of languages. I have only localized two of the language files to support localized captcha security text field description (Swedish and English). All other languages are showing “Security Code”.
Prerequisite
PHP5 and GD-library with support for freetype is needed for the captcha function
2008-10-01 Update
Added support for mvision2 and also updated roundcube to 0.2beta. Source package is removed from server.
2009-02-15 Update
- Upgraded to round cube 0.2 stable.
- Fixed configuration problem
- Integrated mvision 2.2
- Added captcha javascript reload function on login page (se picture in this blog post)
2009-03-10 Update
- Reworked zippackage, fixed some typos etc (thanks to Cyril DUCHENOY for his feedback)

I would like to know whether you have the PSD of the buttons so that I can edit the names to the Portuguese – Brazil, if you want to know how you have put them to download.

Is it working for you? I have a problem. After patching and enabling the use_captcha, i can\’t login. It seems not to compare the right values (captcha image vs. typed in), but these are the same… have you any idea?

Yes, it is working for me. But I have not updated the code to the last roundcube release. I will check it out, but it will take some time since I am on holiday.
The code is now updated. Read at the end of my blog post.
Upgraded to roundcube 0.2 stable, fixed some problems and added support for captcha reload.

I will redo the captcha patch and make it as a plugin for roundcube 0.3. RC

i have install roundcube0.2stable_mvision2.2captcha.zip
but, captcha is none..
my php-5.2.6 with all plugin support & also
testing using php-5.2.9 with all plugin support got same problem..captcha still none…
how do i fix it?

even from your svn patch roundcube 02stable_captcha , the captcha isn’t working. Its directly going to login page without any captcha attempt.

Hi … I had completed my installations successfully and its well working good. But the mails are not displaying when we read from INBOX. If we receive any new mail , they are visible.
What is the problem ..? Do you have any solutions ?
